Punching Bag Stand

Boxing is one of my favorite cardio exercises ever since I started doing it lightyears ago. As usual, life happens and you somehow find yourself not doing the things you used to do and love anymore. When the pandemic happened and I had to start working from home, I finally found some extra time to workout. Aside from my indoor bike, I wanted to have another form of cardio and always thought boxing would have been so perfect. I’m glad I attempted to search for “punching bag” on Amazon and found this little treasure. It’s nothing like having a personal boxing trainer but it certainly does the job. I burn the same amount (or even more sometimes) of calories for half the amount of time when I’m doing this versus when I’m doing my indoor bike.

I typically do 5 round of 2 minute work + 30 second rest. So that’s only 12 minutes total for a really good cardio.

When I’m doing the 2 minute work, I make sure I’m moving nonstop until it’s time to rest. That means a lot of foot work and boxing combinations.

Ankle Weights

You can find a lot of ankle weights out there but from my experience when I was looking, they all had specific weights on them which meant that you had to buy different ones for different weights. I love this one in particular because it allows you to add or remove the weights. This gives you flexibility on the type of workout you’re doing and as you progress on your workout programs.

So I typically use them for core workouts and leg days. For core, it’s perfect for those leg raises, mountain climbers, and Spiderman planks. I normally do about 4 pieces of the weights each side for core workouts and fill them all up when I do leg exercises like hip extensions.

My Organic Wheatgrass Powder

I remember a few years back, Lee and I used to drink wheatgrass powder + milk and it was so delicious. Since I’ve been drinking my green smoothie, I wanted to make it more nutritious so I decided to google up on wheatgrass powder and its benefits. Apparently it’s considered as one of the most nutrient-dense greens out there.

So I searched for a good brand after reading a number of reviews here and there. This one had really good reviews and seems great especially for the price. I like that it’s very similar tasting to the one we tried before, almost like a matcha taste to it.

My Favorite Granola

Have probably tried 9368264929826414 different granolas out there and this is the only one that stuck. So far I only really like this flavor (Chocolate Almond Sea Salt). It’s a great on the go snack.

My $150 Indoor Bike

I think I got this bike like 4 years ago but never actually started using it until the pandemic started. But cmon, I can’t be the only one? Lol

Since April 1st this year, I’m proud to say that I’ve regularly done at least 30mins on this bike almost everyday. Some weeks are definitely better than others though.

So I do 20 mins of medium to high resistance, alternating on and off the saddle. Some combinations I do are:

  • 8 counts off, 8 counts on x 5
  • 4 counts off, 4 counts on x 8
  • 2 counts off, 2 counts on x 10
  • Tapping
  • Very high resistance standing

Then I do 10 mins of sprint intervals which is 10 seconds sprint (like all you got!) + 50 seconds rest at medium resistance and do this 10 times.

When it’s a really good day, I would do more but this is basically my usual minimum routine on the bike.

This exact same one is out of stock (or probably have been phased out since I got this too long ago) but I linked a very similar one here and also added it on my Amazon Storefront.
